Formative Findings - Miami SPEC
The Miami SPEC Research team has taken some time to reflect on our learning to date at this mid-point in the three-year project. We have completed two manuscripts for publication and summarize the findings sections of these two manusripts here.
The first piece is from the findings from our first wave of qualitative data collection and is focused on the SPEC "current state of affairs" in our five partner organizations. The summary is excerpted and condensed from a manuscript submitted for a book Chapter in Enrique Saforcada (Editor) (in press), Community based approaches to community health (tentative title). Buenos Aires: Paidos Publishers.
The second piece highlights our theory of change and documents "what is changing" in the project. We discuss our learnings to date and present our emerging theory reagrading the necessary organizational conditions for SPEC practice. This document is excerpted and condensed from a manuscript submitted to the Journal of Prevention and Intervention in the Community for a speical issue on organizations.
We welcome your thoughts on our current attempts at "meaning making" from the project. You can use the comments feature under each document to share your views.
