proudly presents Money Over Miami: Philanthropy in the Tropics    Monday, October 17, 2011 Time: 8:30am to 3:30pm FIU Graham Center Auditorium 140  11200 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL Join us for a very special signature event presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Miami Chapter.  The morning will be directed byBob Carter, incoming chair of AFP International and long-time president of Ketchum with more than three decades of fund raising experience.  Bob will cover all aspects of cornerstone or leadership gifts, ranging fromidentification, qualification, cultivation and solicitation, to stewardship andgift up-grading.  Following Bob's presentation, breakout groups will be given case studies for which they will develop gift strategies.  The results will then be presented and discussed.  Carter will close with a discussion of new directions and priorities for AFP International. After lunch, Ann Henderson, PhD, executive director of the Graham Center for Public Service at the University of Florida, will present the findings of her recent University of Florida Graham Center study of civic engagement and philanthropy that she presented to the Donor's Forum of South Florida.  Ann will then direct a panel discussion of the report's implications, how our fragile connections to our community affect philanthropy, and possible ways to overcome these shortcomings.
