Inequality: The Enemy Between Us? (Video)

The enemy between us? is a one-hour lecture delivered by Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett

The Equality Trust believes that "in order to gain substantial improvements in the real quality of life of the populations of developed countries it is necessary that differences in income and wealth are greatly reduced." The website is stocked with powerful research evidence on the relationship between inequality and well-being. They provide the evidence on each of eleven different health and social problems: physical health, mental health, drug abuse, education, imprisonment, obesity, social mobility, trust and community life, violence, teenage births, and child well-being. For all eleven of these health and social problems, outcomes are very substantially worse in more unequal societies.

In the 1 hour video, Professor Richard Wilkinson and Dr. Kate E. Picket present compelling evidence that more equal societies do better. It is perfect to show at meetings and you may find it helpful when preparing to use the presentation slides.
