Roots of Social Movements (HW #2)

The current state of health care in America and our government social intervention.

The current state of costs associated with health care in America have far outpaced income of the average citizen.  Affordability of of care related to many health disparities are not a reality for many and because of this, people have been "driven to action" as they feel that their basic human rights have been denied.  This stood out to me from the Social Interventions reading as the first mentioned Root of Social Movements; Suffering and Deprivation.  Advocacy within health care is again at an all-time high and government is now on the doorstep of its own social intervention with reform of America's health care system.  The question is, to what degree will health care reform be molded by breadth, depth, duration, sustainability, ameliorative, conservative, and regressive action?
